Great. Hello students and I just want to provide a quick tutorial about the templater templates

due to the fact that it appears that some people are having some issues with the hotkeys. So what

I wanted to do is start from scratch. So what we're going to look at is we have our templates

here in O5 templates. You can see you have the atomic notes, literature notes, weekly journal

and process notes. What I want you to do to set up the templater template is go down to this little

cog down here, click on the gear, you go into community plugins, then you click on browse.

From here you type in templater. Now you should have this installed. If you don't have this

installed this is where you're going to install it. Click on install and then you're going to enable it.

Once that's done you want to set up your hotkeys but in order to do that we need to tell templater

as a plugin where to find that. So if you click on options that will take you into the templater

plugin options. What we want to first thing we want to do is locate your folder which holds all your

templates and this is the O5 templates folder. So you just click O5 and it should automatically populate

that. Hit enter then we're going to scroll down to where template hotkeys are. These template hotkeys

allow you to bind a template to one particular hotkey. So what we have to do is click here. We're going to

click on a particular template so for now atomic note. Done. What I want you to do is click here and

we're going to add the rest of them. So we have atomic notes, we have literature notes,

we also have the process note, and then lastly we have your journal. Okay so now that we have all of these

put into the template hotkey area what you want to do is click on the plus sign next to it and this will

help you configure the hotkey. So let's click here. It brings you into the hotkeys area. Note how nothing is up. Just clear that screen.

Type in atomic. And now what we can see is that we have atomic create an atomic note, insert an atomic note.

I've already pre-done these but what I'll do is eliminate these. Click on the plus sign. It'll ask you

to type in your hotkey. Hit control a and that gives you your hotkey to create an atomic note.

This will automatically populate a new note with the template built into it. If you have a plain note

but you don't have the template built into it, the insert atomic note hotkey will help you with that. So

if we go for this course I would like you to use shift control a and that will give you the new

insert atomic note. So let's demonstrate these and before I move on to the next.

So let's kill this. All right. Now if I want to create a new note it's just command n.

Nothing in it. This is a test note.

I'm going to hit shift control a and this should populate the entire template into the note.

Now if I want to do a new note

that is automatically has the template put into it but I haven't created it over here yet, then I can

just go control a and it automatically creates the note with the template in it and then I just have to

label that note test one. So notice how if I put in test it's flagging that there is a note already

created as test and it won't allow me to use that name. So I just hit one and that gives me a new test

note over here. From here depending on these notes atomic notes I would drop them into your atomic note file

which is number two so you just have to click and drag into that file. Boom. There's your test note.

So let's delete these. Delete this and go back into

your Templater options. So we have to do hotkeys for your Literature note, Process note and Weekly Journal.

So do the same thing. Go into hotkeys. You can see it's opened up over here. I can type in Process

or and you can see I have hotkeys already designed. So for each one if you don't have any of these hotkeys

you just type in the note name, create Literature note, insert Literature note and do the hotkeys. For each one

I want you to do for Literature note, Ctrl L. For Insert Literature note, Shift Ctrl L. Or whatever you think is best for yourself to remember the hotkey.

If you just want to do L for Literature note you can do that. It will flag if there is a

an issue with the hotkey if it's coinciding with another one. So if I type in say Command N

notice how it says this has a conflict. So it won't allow me that because that command

N is actually used to create a new blank note. So we'll just get out of that, go back in, Ctrl L,

voila, done. So that is it. It's pretty simple. I know it can be a little intimidating at first

but that is how we set up our hotkeys with Templator. If you have any other questions just let me know
